Modern Abortion Deaths (1973-1990)- 25,200,000

The approximate amount of American deaths resulting from 6 major wars throughout the United
States history accumulate to 1,456,000. The American Deaths resulting from Abortion over
less than a 20 year span of time reaches approximately 25,200,000. Abortion is murder, and
it is time that we speak out against the systematic killing of our young ones. To the
skeptic, I promise not to just leave you with a article filled with Pro-Life Slogans. I'll
try to help you understand why I believe it something worth being so concerned about.

First off, many people mistakenly feel that abortion is a "religious" issue. But, in all
reality it is not. It is a scientific/biological issue. The authorities on when life first
begins are the biologists. But, it is the biologists who are normally asked last if at all
when dealing with the question "When does life begin." And when asked normally answer with
"Human life begins at conception." This is a scientific fact. Not a philosophy speculation,
opinion or theory. No intelligently honest and informed scientist or physician can deny that.
As pointed out in a amicus curiae brief (advice to a court on some legal matter) to the
supreme court put together by a group of 220 distinguished physicians, scientists and
professors which was turned in two years before Roe V. Wade, They showed how modern science
had already established that human life is a continuum and that the unborn child from the
moment of conception on is a person and should be looked at as a person, like its mother.
In a scientific journal published in 1970 (In the midst of heated abortion debate.)
"California Medicine" said "Curious avoidance of the scientific fact, which everyone really
knows, that human life begins at conception and is continuous whether intra- or extra-uterine
until death." Dr. Watson A. Bowes Jr. of the University of Colorado Medical School said "the
Beginning of a single human life is from a biological point of view a simple and straight
forward matter- the beginning is conception. This straight forward biological fact should not
be distorted to serve biological, political or economic goals." Dr. Alfred Bongiovanni the
University of Pennsylvania Medical School states "I am no more prepared to say that these
early stages represent an incomplete human being than I would be to say that the child prior
to the dramatic effects of puberty…is not a human being. This is human life at every stage
albeit incomplete until late adolescence."

This is not a potential Child. It is a human being. Just because it does not have all the
functions we have does not make it less human. It may be developing, but, again, it is not
less human. I mean heck, I'm still developing. That doesn't make me anymore human than when
I turn 80.

Now that I've tried to show you what the authorities really say about life, I want to deal
with another issue. That is the objection that most people first bring up in a argument
defending abortion.

"Isn't the fetus merely part of the mother's body."

It is scientific fact that there are two different bodies in pregnancy. One body is that
of the mother. While the other body is that of the child. Evidence for this is that many
women carry babies whose blood type differs from their own. It is medically impossible for
an individual to have two different blood types. Also, the Pregnant Women (Female) may be
carrying a Male Child.

To paraphrase the book "The Facts on Abortion" by John Ankerberg and John Weldon, Another
thing is that the mother herself recognizes the child as a foreign body. The child would
actually be rejected as "foreign tissue" by the woman's body were it not for the placenta.
Doctors say that the placenta doesn't exist until, by its own development, the unborn
child creates the existence of the placenta and places it under his or her power for self-
preservation.

Professor A. W. Liley, research professor in Fetalology in Auckland, New Zealand says "The
Fetus is not the passive, dependent, nerveless, fragile vegetable, as tradition has held,
but a young human being dynamic, plastic, resilient and in a very large measure in charge
of his environment and destiny…

In summary, the fetus organizes his mother…so that nutrients are deflected for fetal needs…

Throughout pregnancy it is the mother not the fetus who is passive and dependent."

He goes on to say,
"It is the embryo who stops his mothers periods and makes her womb habitable by developing
a placenta and a protective capsule of fluid for himself. He regulates his own amniotic
fluid volume and although women speak of their waters breaking or their membranes rupturing,
these structures belong to the fetus. And finally, it is the fetus, not the mother, who
decides when labor should be initiated.

I hope this is enough to convince you why it is so important we speak out against this
holocaust. It is a baby. It is human life, part of our species, and we have killed too many.
(One is too many.) You need to realize what is really happening. I mean…Okay…in its seventh
week (The Pre-Born) Child bears the familiar external features and internal organs of a adult.
The brain is already sending out impulses that coordinate the function of the organs. The
heart beats sturdily. The stomach produces digestive juices. The liver manufactures blood
cells and the kidneys begin to function. The muscles can already be set in motion. After the
8th week, everything is already present that will be found in a full term baby. Yet we murder
these young ones. These young babies, that can feel pain, think dream, and in later points in
pregnancy can actually be felt moving around. What is wrong with a society in which the most
dangerous place to be is in the womb of your mother. (Approximately every 1 in 3 pregnancies
end in Abortion.)

I was watching the news a couple months a go, and there had been a wreck in which "A mother
and her Unborn Child died." Notice they didn't say potential child or group of tissue. They
said Unborn Child. Something I am so shocked by is that if a Doctor was to cut off the babies
oxygen while still in the womb it would be considered an abortion and legal, but if he where
to remove the baby from the womb and then strangle it, it would be murder. (Wow…That could be
a argument to legalize infanticide.) I know for some of you this is all a lot to swallow, but
in all reality this is just the tip of the ice berg. But regardless of your conclusion after
reading this, please I urge you to write me with any questions you may have, and I'll do my
best to answer them all. I hope I've been clear in this.

Friends Like You does not support, promote, or condone groups or individuals who commit violent
acts in the name of Pro-Life!! We do not advocate violence towards the women having the
Abortions, Doctors, the Clinic Workers etc. Violence accomplishes nothing, and only pushes us
further back.

If you have committed an abortion I hope you realize the seriousness of that act. There is
forgiveness though. That is in Christ. He has forgiven me of my sins, He can forgive you of yours,
for in his eyes they are all equal.
